What Our Customers Say About Us.
Why Choose Limerick and Its Surrounding Areas?
Limerick offers a combination of city living and easy access to the countryside of County Limerick and the wider west of Ireland. For people moving from the UK, it can offer a more relaxed alternative to Dublin while still providing employment, shopping, schools, restaurants and good transport connections. Its position on the River Shannon also gives the city a distinctive character and provides convenient access towards Shannon, Clare and Ireland’s Atlantic coast.
Popular Areas
People moving to Limerick have a varied choice of places to live both within the city and in the surrounding county. Castletroy is particularly popular with families, professionals and those connected with the University of Limerick, while Dooradoyle and Raheen are established residential areas on the southern side of the city.
Other options include Annacotty, Corbally and Caherdavin, while those looking for more space outside the city can consider towns and villages across County Limerick. Where you choose will often depend on commuting requirements, schools and whether you prefer city, suburban or more rural surroundings.
Restaurants and Social Life
Limerick has a lively centre with a mixture of traditional pubs, restaurants, cafés and entertainment venues. The areas around the city centre and the River Shannon provide plenty of choices for eating and socialising, while Limerick’s strong sporting culture is another major part of local life.
The city is particularly associated with rugby, with Thomond Park providing one of Limerick’s best-known landmarks, while Gaelic games also play an important role throughout the city and county.
Outdoor Lifestyle
One of the advantages of relocating to Limerick is the combination of urban amenities and access to the outdoors. The River Shannon runs through the city, while numerous parks, riverside routes and green spaces provide opportunities for walking and recreation.
Further afield, Limerick provides a useful base for exploring County Clare, the Shannon Estuary and Ireland’s west coast, making it attractive to people who want access to countryside and coastal destinations without living too far from a major city.
Schools and Education
Families relocating from the UK to Limerick have access to a range of primary and secondary schools throughout the city and surrounding areas. Limerick is also an important centre for higher education, including the University of Limerick and Technological University of the Shannon.
School availability and admission arrangements can vary, so families planning a move to Limerick should research individual schools and catchment or enrolment requirements when deciding which area is most suitable.
Our Limerick Removal Services
Whether you’re moving a few boxes, the contents of an apartment or a complete family home, our Limerick removal services can be tailored to suit your load, timescale and budget. Choose from flexible part-load removals to Limerick or a dedicated removal vehicle travelling directly between the UK and Ireland.
Dedicated Luton Van
Ideal for: Apartments, student relocations and smaller household moves.
Our dedicated Luton vans offer approximately 18m³ of loading space with a payload of around 1,000kg, making them an ideal option for smaller removals between the UK and Ireland. Our standard service includes an experienced driver who assists with loading and unloading, with a second removal porter available where required.
As the vehicle is dedicated solely to your move, your belongings remain on the same van from collection through to delivery, with no transhipping or sharing of vehicle space with other customers.
Their smaller size makes Luton vans particularly useful for city and town moves, apartments and properties where access may be difficult for larger removal trucks. Protective removal blankets and securing straps are used to protect and secure your belongings throughout the journey.
Dedicated 7.5 Tonne Removal Truck
Ideal for: 2–3 bedroom family homes and medium-sized household removals.
Our dedicated 7.5 tonne removal trucks provide approximately 33m³ of loading space with a payload of around 3,000kg, making them well suited to medium-sized removals between the UK and Ireland where a Luton van doesn’t provide sufficient capacity.
The vehicle is reserved solely for your removal, with your belongings remaining on the same truck from collection through to delivery. There is no transhipping or sharing of vehicle space with other customers, helping reduce unnecessary handling during the journey.
Professional loading and unloading assistance is included, with additional crew members available where required. The 7.5 tonne truck provides considerably more capacity than a Luton while still being a practical option for many residential locations where access for a larger 18 tonne vehicle may be more difficult.
Dedicated 18 Tonne Removal Truck
Ideal for: Large family homes and complete household relocations.
For larger removals between the UK and Ireland, our dedicated 18 tonne removal trucks provide approximately 55m³ of loading space with payloads of up to 9,000kg, making them particularly suitable for substantial household moves involving larger quantities of furniture, appliances, boxes and personal belongings.
The truck is reserved exclusively for your removal, with your belongings remaining on the same vehicle from collection through to delivery, without being transferred or combined with other customers’ consignments.
Professional loading and unloading is included, with the appropriate removal crew arranged according to the size and requirements of your move. Access is particularly important with a vehicle of this size, so we’ll assess this in advance and can discuss alternative vehicle or shuttle arrangements where direct access isn’t possible.
Dedicated Vehicle Service
A dedicated removal vehicle provides the most direct and flexible option for moving your belongings between the UK and Ireland. Depending on the size and weight of your move, we can provide a Luton van, 7.5 tonne truck or larger 18 tonne removal vehicle reserved exclusively for your relocation.
Your belongings remain on the same vehicle from collection through to delivery, with no transhipping or consolidation with other customers’ goods. This reduces unnecessary handling and gives us greater flexibility when arranging collection, transit and delivery around your requirements.
Dedicated removals can also provide faster transit times than groupage because the vehicle is travelling specifically for your move rather than coordinating several customers’ collections and deliveries along the route.
This service is particularly suitable for customers working to fixed dates, relocating for employment, moving larger households or simply wanting a direct door-to-door service with greater control over their collection and delivery schedule.
Part Load & Groupage
Our part load and groupage removals between the UK and Ireland provide a more economical alternative to a dedicated vehicle and can accommodate anything from a few boxes and individual pieces of furniture through to larger or complete household removals.
By combining several customers’ consignments travelling along similar UK and Ireland routes, transport costs can be shared between the different moves. This can significantly reduce the cost compared with reserving an entire vehicle, particularly where collection and delivery dates are flexible.
We’ll coordinate your removal with other consignments travelling in the same direction and provide an estimated collection and delivery schedule. Your belongings are carefully protected, clearly identified and handled professionally throughout the journey.
Groupage isn’t limited to small moves. It can also be a cost-effective option for larger household removals where you don’t require a vehicle exclusively for your belongings and can offer some flexibility with your moving dates.
Tailored to Your Move
Every removal between the UK and Ireland is different, which is why we tailor the service around your individual requirements rather than offering a one-size-fits-all package.
We’ll consider the volume and weight of your belongings, access at collection and delivery, your preferred dates and the level of assistance required before recommending the most appropriate vehicle and service. This could be a dedicated Luton van, 7.5 tonne or 18 tonne truck, or a more economical part load and groupage service.
We can also arrange professional packing, export wrapping and additional loading or unloading assistance where required. Secure short- or long-term storage can be incorporated into your removal if your collection and delivery dates don’t coincide.
Whether you’re moving a few personal belongings or the contents of a complete family home, we’ll build the service around your move and provide a quotation based on your particular requirements.

Moving FAQ's
If you’re transferring your normal residence from Great Britain to Ireland, you may qualify for Transfer of Residence (TOR) relief, which can provide relief from Customs Duty and VAT on qualifying personal and household belongings. Generally, you must have lived outside the EU for at least 12 continuous months and have owned and used the goods for at least six months before moving. Other conditions also apply.
For personal and household goods, Irish Revenue currently requires Declaration Form C&E 1076 (Rev 2) together with supporting documents. Revenue says you or your authorised agent should email the application and supporting documents to the relevant port two weeks before your goods arrive. If your goods are travelling from Great Britain through the freight channel by ferry, a valid Pre-Boarding Notification (PBN) ID is also required before ferry check-in.
For a TOR application, Revenue may require evidence of your residence outside the EU, evidence that you’re moving to Ireland, and evidence relating to the ownership and use of the goods you’re importing. Examples include property rental or purchase documents, employment records and evidence of day-to-day living abroad. Your completed C&E 1076 declaration should be accompanied by the relevant supporting documents.
If you’re moving a smaller quantity and can be flexible with collection and delivery dates, our part-load or groupage service will usually be more economical than reserving an entire vehicle. Your belongings travel with other customers’ consignments heading in the same direction, allowing the transport costs to be shared. For fixed dates or larger household moves, we can instead provide a dedicated removal vehicle.
