Professional Removals to Czech Republic: Make Your Move with Confidence
Located in the heart of Central Europe, the Czech Republic, also known as Czechia, offers an appealing combination of historic cities, modern employment centres and attractive countryside. People relocate from the UK for many different reasons, from career opportunities and family connections to education, retirement and a complete change of lifestyle. Whatever your reason for moving, experienced international movers can make transporting your household belongings considerably easier.
Prague is by far the country’s best-known destination, combining an internationally recognised historic centre with major business, technology, tourism and education sectors. Brno provides another important economic and university centre, while cities such as Ostrava, Plzeň and Olomouc offer alternatives for those who would prefer to settle outside the capital.
Beyond the major cities, the Czech Republic has an extensive choice of smaller towns and rural communities, with forests, mountains and countryside within easy reach of many urban areas. Its central European location also provides convenient road and rail connections with neighbouring Germany, Poland, Austria and Slovakia.
With depots throughout the UK and Europe, we can manage your relocation from anywhere in the UK to destinations throughout the Czech Republic and elsewhere in Europe.

Types of Removals to Czech Republic
Every international relocation comes with different requirements. Whether you’re transporting several personal possessions, moving from an apartment or relocating everything from a substantial family property, we’ll recommend a vehicle and service based on the volume, weight, access requirements, preferred dates and budget of your move.
Dedicated Luton Van
Ideal for: Apartments, student relocations and smaller household moves.
Our dedicated Luton vans provide approximately 18m³ of loading capacity with a payload of around 1,000kg, offering a practical option for smaller UK to Czech Republic removals. They are well suited to customers relocating from apartments, moving for employment or study, or transporting a limited quantity of household furniture and personal belongings.
The standard service includes an experienced driver who assists with loading and unloading. Where additional help is required, a second removal porter can also be arranged.
Because the vehicle is dedicated entirely to your relocation, your belongings remain on the same van from collection in the UK until delivery at your Czech address, rather than sharing vehicle space with another customer’s consignment. The smaller dimensions of a Luton can also be useful when accessing city properties or residential locations unsuitable for larger trucks. Protective blankets and professional securing equipment are used throughout transportation.
Dedicated 7.5 Tonne Removal Truck
Ideal for: 2–3 bedroom family homes and medium-sized household removals.
Offering approximately 33m³ of loading space and a payload of around 3,000kg, our dedicated 7.5 tonne removal trucks provide the additional capacity needed for medium-sized house removals to the Czech Republic.
Your truck is reserved exclusively for your move, allowing furniture, appliances, boxes and personal possessions to remain together throughout transportation. There is no requirement to consolidate your belongings with other customers’ consignments, helping to reduce unnecessary handling between collection and delivery.
Professional loading and unloading is included, with additional removal team members available according to the size and complexity of the move. A 7.5 tonne truck offers considerably greater capacity than a Luton while remaining suitable for many residential locations where access for a full-sized 18 tonne vehicle may be more difficult.
Dedicated 18 Tonne Removal Truck
Ideal for: Large family homes and complete household relocations.
When relocating the contents of a larger property, our 18 tonne removal trucks provide approximately 55m³ of loading space. This gives us the capacity to transport substantial quantities of furniture, appliances, packed belongings and other household possessions in a single dedicated vehicle.
Your belongings remain aboard the same truck between your UK collection address and destination in the Czech Republic without being combined with other customers’ goods or routinely transferred between vehicles.
The appropriate removal crew will be provided for professional loading and unloading according to the requirements of your relocation. Access is an important consideration with a vehicle of this size, particularly in older urban neighbourhoods and historic centres. We’ll therefore assess the practicalities beforehand and discuss alternative arrangements where direct access isn’t possible.
Dedicated Vehicle Service
For customers wanting a direct removal service to the Czech Republic, reserving a dedicated vehicle provides greater control over the transportation of your belongings. Depending on your requirements, we can allocate a Luton van, 7.5 tonne truck or larger 18 tonne removal vehicle specifically to your move.
Everything travels together from collection to delivery without sharing vehicle capacity with other customers. This eliminates the need to coordinate your consignment with several separate moves and reduces additional handling along the route.
A dedicated service can also offer more flexibility when arranging collection and delivery because the journey is planned around your relocation rather than multiple consignments.
This option can be particularly useful when moving a larger household, relocating for a new job, working towards a fixed property date or simply wanting a direct door-to-door removal with greater control over the schedule.
Part Load & Groupage
Our part-load removals to the Czech Republic offer an economical alternative when your belongings don’t require a complete removal vehicle. The service can accommodate anything from individual pieces of furniture and several boxes to much larger household consignments.
Your possessions travel alongside other customers’ belongings heading along compatible European routes. By sharing the available vehicle space and transport costs, groupage can provide significant savings compared with reserving a vehicle exclusively for your move.
This service works particularly well for customers who can be flexible with collection and delivery dates. We’ll coordinate your consignment with other removals travelling in the same direction and provide an estimated schedule.
Belongings are carefully protected and clearly identified before transportation, helping each customer’s consignment remain organised throughout the journey.
Tailored to Your Move
Rather than trying to fit every removal to the Czech Republic into a standard package, we’ll tailor the service around your individual circumstances. The amount you’re moving, overall weight, property access, preferred dates and level of assistance required will all help determine the best solution.
Your relocation might require a dedicated Luton van, 7.5 tonne truck or 18 tonne vehicle, while our part-load and groupage service can provide a more economical alternative when exclusive use of a vehicle isn’t necessary.
Professional packing and export wrapping can be arranged to protect furniture, fragile possessions and other household goods. If your collection and delivery dates don’t coincide, we can also incorporate secure short- or long-term storage into your moving plan.
Whether you’re taking a relatively small number of belongings or relocating everything from a family home, we’ll build the service around your requirements and provide a clear quotation based on the assistance and transportation you need.
Groupage can also accommodate larger household moves. If your belongings don’t occupy an entire vehicle and you have flexibility with dates, sharing transport capacity can significantly reduce the cost of an international relocation.

Key Considerations When Moving to Czech Republic
-
Visa and Residence Requirements:
British citizens moving to the Czech Republic after Brexit are generally treated as third-country nationals unless protected by the Withdrawal Agreement. For stays exceeding 90 days, the appropriate long-term visa or residence route depends on the purpose and duration of the move.
-
Customs Procedures:
Household possessions transported from the UK into the Czech Republic are entering the EU from a third country and are therefore subject to customs formalities. Relief from import duties can be available when transferring your normal residence, provided the relevant conditions are satisfied.
-
Healthcare:
Access to Czech public health insurance depends on factors including your residence and employment status. People relocating to the Czech Republic should establish the healthcare and insurance arrangements applicable to their individual circumstances before moving.
-
Employment and Work:
UK nationals have had free access to the Czech labour market since July 2024, meaning they generally do not require separate work authorisation. However, this does not remove the requirement to hold the appropriate visa or residence permission for a long-term stay. Anyone relocating for work should therefore check the residence requirements applicable to their circumstances.
-
Official Documentation:
Keep important paperwork accessible throughout your move, including passports, visa or residence documentation, proof of accommodation, employment information and documents relating to the importation of your household belongings. Where a UK criminal record certificate is required for a long-term visa or residence application made through the Czech Embassy in London, the Embassy specifies that an ACRO Criminal Record certificate is accepted rather than a DBS certificate.

Czech Republic Removals FAQs
If you’re applying for a Czech long-term visa or residence permit through the Czech Embassy in London, a UK criminal record certificate may form part of your application. The Embassy specifies that it accepts the ACRO Criminal Record certificate rather than a DBS certificate. Depending on your circumstances, criminal record documentation may also be required from other countries where you have previously lived.
Certain documents submitted as part of a long-term visa or residence application must be provided in Czech. Foreign-language documents generally need an officially certified Czech translation, while relevant UK public documents, such as birth or marriage certificates and an ACRO Criminal Record certificate, may also require an Apostille. Check the requirements applying to your particular application well before your planned relocation date.
Proof of accommodation is one of the documents required for Czech long-term visa applications. Depending on your situation, this could include a tenancy agreement or other recognised evidence showing that you have accommodation in the Czech Republic. Arranging your Czech accommodation early can therefore be important for both your immigration application and planning delivery of your household belongings.
Foreign nationals can have a duty to report their place of residence after arriving in the Czech Republic. The exact requirement and deadline depend on your circumstances and residence status, and separate reporting may not be necessary where your accommodation provider has already fulfilled the obligation. Check the procedure applying to your particular residence arrangements when you arrive.
Possibly. Certain foreign nationals who receive qualifying long-term or permanent residence permits are required to complete an Adaptation and Integration Course. There are exemptions, so the requirement does not apply to everyone moving to the Czech Republic. If it applies to your residence permit, the course provides information about rights, obligations and everyday life in the country.
